Where it all started…

It all began with a burned out teacher who refused to settle.

I was teaching in the public school system and tired of being reprimanded for teaching my students what they need, rather than what was in the standardized curriculum. I finally walked away.

After 6 months off, I began building my dream. I found a building and started the paperwork. After two years of classes at the local community college, gutting and rebuilding the kitchen, bathrooms and original classroom and mountains of paperwork for state licensing and nonprofit status, we FINALLY opened. I was 7 months pregnant with my son and only had 5 students, but I truly felt like I was living my dream!

Now, almost 7 years later, I still feel that way. I get to watch children grow. I get to create a fun learning environment. I get to ensure each student is getting what they need.
